That sounds about right for an unmodifyed CB. Typically you can figure about 1 mile/ Watt on a CB, on a GOOD day. CB's have (legally) 4 watts, but are usually very poorly tuned radios, as compared to amateur or professional radios. You would probably not see a huge improvement by adding a dedicated CB antenna,IMHO. You can expect anywhere from 1/2mile to 5 mile range typically, regardless. |
