I don't think you quite understand my situation. I programmed the S.A.M.E. and FIPS codes into my radio. However my alert went off when it was NOT for my specific area. I think it was reading the ALL FIPS instead of the specific counties I entered prior.
Then I think that the manual states that if F1 or F15 are showing then they are ALL FIPS if F2 through F14 are entered then ONLY those frequencies will set off the radio.
This to me is confusing and on my Oregon Scientific Weather Alert Radios you have to REMOVE the ALL FIPS from the radio or it will give warnings for ALL counties in a specific area.
You can't remove the ALL FIPS from the menu on the Bearcat 780xlt. Also to blank a removed frequency I tried to do just the "decimal" like the manual states and it is still registering, so I put in 000.000 and it is holding that in the display currently.
