I just got through completing the mod for the 245, and the audio performance and reception went out the windows.... The audio is really scratchy, got rid of the squelch tail but, the audio is bad, it lost alot of the sensitivity. I remove the diode, and the audio never restored back to original state. Also the squelch tail never returned either. I followed the mod exactly as shown with no solder bridges. I might have to send it in to Uniden for repair. I wonder if they will do the squelch tail mod when they do the repair? (just a thought). Any ideas what could have happened? What I should do to correct the problem?
