I am looking for suggestions on the best way to program my new BC780XLT for the Mass State Police Motorola SmartZone system. Because of the large number of frequencies and talk groups used on the system, they won’t all fit in one bank on the 780. I do not live in Massachusetts so can not experiment with various configurations on my own. I thought that someone who does live there and who travels the state could help in setting up my scanner.
Does it make sense to segregate banks by Troops? That would seem to use up at least 4 or 5 banks and require duplicate entries of many talk group ids. Also, I am not sure what would happen when I travel from one smartzone to another.
I have seen some WinScan and Andy’s program files for the state police system but they seem to mostly cover the Boston and Cape Cod area. I am interested in setting up the scanner for the entire state.
Any suggestions or WinScan or Andy’s program files would be greatly appreciated.John W1PC
