VhF AIR?
I have to agree with the person who said that this is the best scanner yet for aircraft monitoring. I live within 3 miles of a small airport.Unfortunately,In the town next to mine there is a 50k watt fm radio station on 107.9 mhz.The local tower is on 120 mhz. forget about using an outdoor antenna for aircraft. When I hooked up the 780 to the outdoor antenna,I was extremely surprised to hear my tower loud and clear without the interference from the radio station. This radio is outstanding.
I am using a COMET-GP15 8ft tri band antenna mounted 15 feet above my roof with lmr-400uf low loss cable at 50 feet of length. It is made for my 3 favorite fm ham bands(50,144,430mhz.) but works great on other bands like aircraft.Like everything else
relating to reception,it depends on your enviroment and what type of antenna system you use. None the less, this radio is great
at monitoring aircraft.I highly recomend it............
