Duane,There was an obvious oversight on the part of Uniden to include the information about the limit search "feature" Since the 780 has programmable search ranges that previous trunktrackers did not, it is possible that they just replaced the chapter describing how to do a "limit" search with the one for programming the 10 searchs in the 780.
The 895 and 245 both are able to do this "feature" and I have personally verified that the 780 does it as well. My old Pro-26 can do it as well!
It is not a bug and was just simply overlooked during the manual creation. It happens.
The manuals for both the 895 and 245 have a chapter on how to use this function and it is identical on both and the procedure if done correctly, works 100% with the 780.
As for the "overwriting" a channel. That would only happen if/when you hit "E"nter while on a freq. found during the limit search. Makes sense as you would normally be looking for something new to place into a (normally) empty channel.
I checked the 895 and 245 ON-LINE manuals (PDF files are found on the Uniden website if you need them as that's where I got mine :))
The pages I am referencing are:
895 Manual : Pages 30 - 32
245 manual : Pages 28 - 31
