Inability to display group IDs? Not sure what you mean by that. If it is set up correctly it will show both the talkgroup and any alphatags you have programmed in.
I used this board to get mine programmed correctly and only refered to the manual for a quick double check of the info. Thanks to the many posts here I was able to avoid most of the problems not covered or not clear in the manual.
There are a couple of things I don't like about this scanner but I sure won't be sending it back. I actually had fun figuring it out and I keep it running by my bed when at home and at my desk at work.There is very little it misses and I am very happy with it.
