I found the programming pretty easy, I had my first motorola type2 system prgrammed in an running with my talkgroups 20 minutes after purchase. I pulled into a parking lot a block
from the store and flipped through the manual and got it running, as I had a 60 minute drive home from the store.
The manual is a bit confusing, but today I use Wiscan and
have tried the Trackstar demo, between both programming and
doing updates is a breeze.
Quality wise I think it out performs my other trunking scanners.
