Mr. Bill, Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I agree with you that the 780 can be much more confusing to get used to, coupled with some vague manual descriptions can lead to your frustrations. I have had mine for about 6 weeks and I really like it. I guess its like anything else, "You have to spend some time with it" to really learn it. Unfortunately that "time" length is different for everybody. I have to admit that I have used the various software packages for most of my programming to save time and keystrokes which, may have been beneficial to you. In my opinion, the 780 is the best game in town right now. My 245 is a great trunktracker also, but the 780 has so much more. In closing, I guess its up to you but I would suggest giving it another try after a couple weeks and maybe try some software with it also. Also, use these boards to ask questions also, thats what all of us radio geeks are here for. Best of Luck. Tom/G
