I hope all of you can bear to hang with me while I ask some questions about my new "toy"!I received the radio today and within 30 minutes I had my local PD (800 mhz trunked) up and running. About 10 minutes later I had gotten rid of the sanitation department and the "Dial-A-Ride" ID's!
Now, comes the fine tuning. I understand that this radio will scan both trunked and conventional in the same bank. Can multiple trunked systems be placed in the same bank or must they be in separate banks?
Also, for the cable to use the PC control function: Is this just a straight through serial cable (I.E. pin1 to pin1, pin2 to pin2, etc)?
I'll have other questions as I go along, but I'll start with these for now.
