Thanks Rich and Bill for your prompt and helpful responses. I did delete the old WinScan files and create new ones and it seems to work great again now. I also downloaded and tried Andy's programmer - it is very good! I guess I should have realized from the start that I just needed a reliable and complete programmer and backup utility and not a method to actually control the radio. If I wanted a second "radio" I'd have bought another 780 (hey not a bad idea). Anyway thanks guys, this site is super and a real wealth of information for all us hobbyists. |
