The 780 will scan trunked with conventional systems --

1. For EDACS & Conventional: EDACS must be programmed in LCN
order FIRST, then the conventional frequencies.

2. For Motorola & Conventional: The frequencies may be
programmed in any order. I would recommend that it be
programmed trunked first, then conventional. I think the
scanner will stay on the control channel for a couple seconds
until it doesn't find activity, then scan the conventional
channels.

3. For Motorola and Motorola: The scanner will essentially
stop on the first control channel it finds. When there is
no activity on the scanner, it will scan the other trunked
frequencies like conventional ones, and then would stop on the
next control channel and trunk that system. Remember that
"Why does the scanner leave the control channel every few
seconds?" I think it'll serve as a good purpose when you
attempt to scan two Motorola trunked systems at one time.

4. EDACS to EDACS: One of the local hams I helped out attempted
to do this, and I had the hardest time in explaining that you
can only program ONE system per bank...because each frequency
had its own LCN order.

In other words, EDACS to EDACS is impossible, and will cause
a lot more headache than it will do good.

Have fun and experiment with your 780!
