I downloaded the software and tried to get it running with no luck. I'm pretty sure I have all the correct cables but still no luck getting it to do anything. I'm using it on a G3 laptop with plenty of RAM.

I have a short (three inch) adaptor cable that goes from the round mac serial connection to a male 9-pin connection (I believe it was originally packaged as part of a serial-to-PDA adapter package, but I have used it as an adapter to connect my cellphone to my laptop to do wireless transmissions without any problems.). Since the 780 has a female 9-pin connection I thought I didn't need anything else, so I bought an extention cable. This cable, labeled on the packaging as a data cable, goes from a female 9-pin connector to a male 9-pin connector. One end of this goes into the 780 and the other connects to my adaptor cable.

On one hand I think this should work, but on the other hand it seems like it is too simple. I don't have any null modem adaptors in this set-up and I don't have any 25-pin connectors. It's just two cables.

Am I doing something wrong?

William
