Search skipping?

I've been searching 851mhz to 860mhz. I've watched the numbers closely and I'll see 851, 852, 853, then all of a sudden it blazes through and I'm on 858 or something. Searching should be smooth through all frequencies, if no traffic is found.
Anyone else notice this? This thing can't be scanning that fast. It seems to miss a lot of stuff my Pro2006 doesn't.
