Problems with Programmin Trunked Systems.

I just got my bc780xlt.
I'm havin major problems programin in the frequencies for trunked systems. I have followed the directions in the mannual exactly as they are written, but when i do step 7 (page 38 in manual) "7 Press TRUNK for 2 seconds"
I get the following message:
ERROR
OUT OF BAND
does anybody have any idea to where did i go wrong?
I have tried to fully erase memory, that does not help either.
I really need help.
