Tom,I think 2 speakers, spliced together will be fine. I have a single, 5 W Radio Shack speaker attached & w/ the volume turned up - it really cranks! Surely, there is plenty of audio output from the BCT 780 to drive 2 speakers comfortably. Quality also should NOT decrease. Happy listening!
