That is my point. If your scanner is locked onto troop C how are
you going to pickup troop D or any other for that matter? There
are going to be times when your scanner is locked onto the wrong
zone and you will miss an entire zone. This problem will occur
most often near borders. The only way to hear both troop C and
troop D would be to put them in seperate banks. As far as >tuning a SP radio programmed to C troop as its home troop
to D-PTL 1(or any D channel)in C troop WILL give a NO SYS
status on the radio.<
This doesn't make sense. I programmed Motorola radios for my
state wide area Smartzone digital system and I have never seen
a NO SYS status. If you are talking about "OUT OF RANGE" that
is caused by going out of range from the control channels assigned
to a system. True Smartzone systems are seamless but could be configed
to limit the control channel selection at troop borders. It's all
up to the design. I use Motorola equipment to listen to two Smartzone
systems and travle across troops and zones all the time. Being
locked onto the wrong control channel WILL caused missed transmissions.
