It's not out. The company that is working on it is still doing the engineering to see if it's feasible. The problem is, at least from what I can tell, that it's going to be fairly expensive since they have to build a display, controls, some fairly sophisticated circuitry.
It's too bad that Uniden didn't build the radio with a removable head. Many amateur and even mid range commercial radios are built this way, and it would have been much cheaper and easier if Uniden had engineered the radio from the start.
