No need to rehash -- it's a bug. Why would it be a feature to leave a perfectly good control channel? The other BC scanners don't do it. I scan a system with my 235 handheld that changes the control channel every night. The 235 handles the switch just fine without EVER losing the control channel during the day. The 780 loses the control channel every 10 seconds during quiet times.
